Gun, Fire (2023)
Who's the hunter? By choosing the dead stuffed deer as both a symbol of my stolen innocence and a confrontational counteract, I question my place as being both the model-prey, and the photographer-hunter. Am I prey, being the model, or am I as well a predator, being the photographer? By consciously submitting myself to an act of appropriation and domination, thus objectifying myself, I aim to question the power dynamics between model and photographer and examine the camera’s power to objectify, which can transform anything into an object of study, fascination and possession.
